Can we have a "how this website works" link boldy on main page?
I didn't know where to put this so I put it here.
I've noticed a few "shouts" that appear the new users or potential new user is confused on how the website works.
I know I found the website confusing when I first signed up for it. It was weeks after I created a login for the main page that I found out I had to create a 2nd login for the forums.
Would it be possible to get a quick "how to" document that is linked directly under or over the "welcome" that would be recognizable even for dunces like me? .
I know it's late for me But I can't help but wonder how many n00bs get frustrated easily at the somewhat confusing way the website works. It's not confusing after we know how to do it, just when we're coming to the website for the first time.
Maybe this has been suggested before, I don't know. I'd be happy to make a simple ODF or DOC or PDF with quick references and even a few pics for examples if someone would be willing to preview it and put it on.

Thanked: 0I was also confused by the two login procedure. I still do not know why I made a username and password for the main page. Now I just go to the forums to sign in. It would be great if you could just sign in on one page.

A redesign is coming, gents. Slowly but surely. I'm handling the graphic design side of the site update and hashing out content with dwessell. Additionally, dwessell and azjoe are reworking everything else.
For now, to access the forums directly in a single browser window, bookmark and use the following URL:

I understand the rework. I'm just saying, even for now, a simple document or text file on "how" the website works, put in bold in the main page would help new visitors to the website. This will be especially critical if the 2 login feature continues beyond the rework.
Additionally you get people "shouting" on the main page and not getting immediate responses. How many of those don't come back for a while after thinking they should get an immediate response on a "shout"?.
That's all I'm saying. If the rework takes care of this that's great, but a how to would be quick and simple in the mean time to do until the rework takes care of it.
