I nicked my knuckle today while polishing a DD Dwarf. I never think to clean the blade before I start this since I'm not planning on shaving. It's going to be tough to get a good stretch in the shave if I get lock jaw.

That's why I disinfect my blades before final polish/honing and at least give them a good spray with something antibacterial before I start any work with them. By the way, what's with you and all those ducks X? You're almost as bad as me and Sheffield

Please, read this one more time:

I can't recall where I read it, but some wise sage said that "the most dangerous place for a straight razor is anywhere but against your face". Simply put, don't drop your guard when you are not shaving with the razor. You'll wind up with another cut like you have now, or a cut elsewhere, i.e., thigh or worse!

    3 Specials
    3 Satinedges
    1 Dwarf
I think I'm subconsciously working on a 7 day set.

Could be! But, with the Dwarf in the mix, are you "short" a day?

Interestingly one of the Satinedges is even shorter than the Dwarf.
It has obviously been intentionally cut back to 2 1/2", maybe because the tip was chipped?

And I'm consciously working toward the same goal. It looks like I'll be getting one more e-bay special and then saving up for the TI black horn full hollow 6/8. As a bow to my first sensei, one of the blades in my rotation is a Satinedge (but with Dovo scales)

These stories are very, very good for us beginners! They always seem to come along when I'm starting to feel cocky, like an "old hand."

    90 minutes?!!!!! man....
Shower and shave take me about 30 in total.....

Is that faster than most out here?

Well, clean cuts like this sure heal up nicely. I was in the water all weekend and it still closed up in less than a day.
