Thread: Converted a Heathen Shaver!

My brother in-law and his wife came to visit us this weekend and he left a changed man (with a bag full of straight razor shaving supplies). About a month ago, my wife and I went to visit him up in Boston. He knows I've been straight razor shaving for years, so he always takes the opportunity to take a cheap shot at my hobby when he can. While we were there he brought out his Gillete Fusion (I think they call it that because it feels like shaving with a nuclear weapon) and told me how great it was and how amazing it shaved with it's new fangled technology and Intel Inside Pentium processor and what not. Well later that weekend, we went to the marketplace over by Faneuil Hall and I stopped into a knife shop and bought some shaving soap. They sold some Dovo and Hen & Rooster razors there and he was pretty impressed by them. Fast forward to this past weekend and he tells me he wants me to teach him how to shave with a straight. Heaven only knows what atrocity he committed with that Gillette, but I obliged and showed him how. He did pretty well and was pretty psyched about the whole experience. I ended up giving him one of my Dovo razors, my old strop and a Fromm disposable straight with blades. I told him to check out this forum for all the info he would ever need. It feels good to "save" a fellow shaver!

I've converted a few people, myself. None are as obsessed as I am about it, but you never know how far they'll pursue it.
