Thread: Friodur 8/8: OMIGAWD!

Got this (http://www.shavingshop.com/products/DSC05985.JPG) in the mail yesterday from John Crowley. Gave it thirty passes on Tony's nice hanging strop and went for it. This blade scared the hair off of my face. At least that's the explanation I have for the effortless way it maneuvered. It handles easier than my 13/16 Puma, and the scales are sooo beautiful. This will be my goto big blade over my two 7/8. Somehow I can see myself eventually just having one great razor in each size, and this one will be one of them. If you're thinking about a big boy, you can't go wrong with one of these. Well worth every penny.

Wayne, I got a Bartmann from John about a month ago and I enjoy using it. He's got some real beauties that will be collectibles. I could definitely spend a fortune at his site. Got my eye on this one:

I've bought 3 Razors from John...A 7/8 Henkels Friodur, an 8/8 Henkels Friodur and now this 6/8 GebrGeldmacher "Frameback" - camatillo rosewood.

They all came extremely shave ready...
