    Default Light singing blade

I have a set of 7 Sprock razors, I got them off of ebay about 3 years ago, and never did anything with them. To be honest I had completely forgotten about them.

So today I found them, the blades are good on all of them but the scales are a little worse for ware on most of them.

This evening I decided to hone one of them, and I was very successful. Going to shave with it in a few minutes.

What I notice is this razor is 6/8 but it is very light, lighter then one of my 5/8 razors. The blades have a Hamburg grind and I noticed this evening that the razor sings.

So two questions, is the blade light because of the grind type or is it the metal used and does anyone have any information about Sprock.

In most cases it's the grind type. I found German blades to be of a finer grind than the English ones. My Satinedge is a true singer, while Taylor's is more robust. However they both shave equally well since I started using the coticule on'em.
