    Default First full shave.

Well gents I've done it, I just had my first "full" straight shave and man that was cool! I have tried my cheeks well before I purchased the poor man's strop kit but that was it.
I was thinking of just doing the cheeks again but once that was done I just had to continue!!! As you can expect I did have to do a bit of clean up with my cartridge razor but for my first not too shabby.

    Cheers,
    Brock

Thanks Lynn, I know I'm going to jinx myself by saying this but I didn't even get a nick!! The down side is that it wasn't a BBS shave but I know that will come with practice.

I only used my Arkansas stone with water then the strop....should I have used my barber's hone before using the strop?

    Cheers,
    Brock

That is one of the interesting aspects of straight razor shaving for me. Once you get past the learning stage, bleeding is rare. And, certainly much less for me than any other method of shaving, with the exception of electric razors (which always burned the heck out of my skin.)

Don't worry so much about BBS. Worry about getting a close as you can get shave with the most comfort. If you face is wisker free and it was a comfortable shave then you are ahead of the game.
