    Default Pocket DE Razor?

I bought my first straight razor yesterday from an antiques store. While there I noticed another razor that I initially thought was a straight razor with a mustache brush on the spine of the blade. But when I inspected the razor I found it was actually a double edge razor that functioned like a straight razor. What I thought was a brush was actually metal teeth that cover the edge of one side of the razor blade. It had a handle similar to a straight razor that the razor closed into leaving one half of the DE razor exposed. This seemed like quite an old razor and had significant rust, but looked like it could be repaired/restored. Does anyone know if it might be of some value or similarly of any use to anyone? I think they were asking $25 for it.

It sounds like it's one of those Duram Duplex razors. I see them on eBay all the time, usually quite cheap. Cheaper than twenty-five dollars, anyway. I'd buy one if I thought I'd ever use it, but they don't look all that practical.

That type of razor was, and still is I believe, used for razor cutting of hair. I think the brands are different now. I see them for sale on Barber Supply websites.

    Definitely not worth $25.
