First thing I did was buy a "shave ready" razor from somebody that knows what they are doing. In the mean time my shaving skills and honing skills keep improving. It took me a year to meet or exceed my benchmark razor. Now when I shave even the easist part of my face and I get the "knife in the butter" feel ( which includes no pulling or razor burn ) I know I have a keeper. Out of curiousity I just sent a razor that I honed to a well known member here to review. Just to make sure I am on the correct path.

what happens when you shave the toughest part of your face?

That's actually a good idea. If Lynn wasn't so busy I'd be tempted to send or take one to him for a review. He's the closest honemaster to me but I don't have access to any good cuban cigars or aged booze to make the hassle worth his while
