Marking my territory (ebay)
Hello Gentlemen,
I just bid on two Tony Holmes' items. Ideally I'll only win one and that one is marked for a buddy who wants to go straight, but I'm hedging my bet, just in case. Worst case scenario, I end up with another shaver in my rotation. The items in question are 6635111253 and 6635395752. I'd appreciate no interference with my conversion effort Thank you very much.

Ilija,
Those look like two very nice razors. I hope you win them.

Thanks Ed. They should arrive just as I get my Norton, so that will make the restoration a breeze even if it DOES involve teaching a rookie how to hone.

Muchas Gracias X. The possible convert was kind of reluctant until I pointed out the price of a gilette fusion and blade cartriges. Had a semi-long phone consultation with him. My assistant wasn't amused lol.

Got the M&Y!!! It went a bit over my maximum price, so I won't be going after the Rajan. If anyone here's interested, good luck! Here's my new baby:

Thanks X. It won't get shipped until I double-check where Tony will be shipping it, whether it's Canada or French Guiana. I MAY get a job down there. I just hope Lee Valley gets my Norton before I have to fly out

Hey there, I just got the Rajan. Thanks for the tip. This should be my first decent razor. I got 2 others off eBay, but they were in pretty bad shape. I look forward to getting this one in the mail.

Hi Plor. I'm happy a fellow srp member got his hands on this baby. Tony's very honest with his descriptions and even mentions nicks that are barely visible to the naked eye. Therefore, I'm assuming that this one's CLEAN. It shows some hone wear, but not very much and it's a nice full hollow roundpoint. Not much of a looker but a great shaver. Kind of like the Taylor's Eye Witness I got from him. That is why I didn't insist on getting this one as well. I already have something similar and plenty of project blades waiting for the Norton and more free time to arrive. My Japanese slip-stones are just too slow for restoration. Fortunately this one is getting a home where it will be used the way it was meant to be. Enjoy!
P.S. The rookie I wanted to convert doesn't seem to be as eager as he was in the beginning. I gave him all the basic info, so he can come around on his own and I'm confident I can always get something for him or even give him one of my project blades and supervise his learning process.Last edited by FiReSTaRT; 06-12-2006 at 09:49 PM.
