Thanked: 2Vlad's Wonderedge ist wunderbar [sic]
I managed to snag Vlad's custom DD from ebay (with Bill Ellis' encouragement) and it is a nice piece of work. I believe he posted a few pictures sometime back and they don't compare to seeing up close.
I had the requisite shave (which was nice) and promptly oiled it back up and put it in its case until I can hone the damn thing.
Thanks Vlad and I look forward to your next project.

Thanked: 0Vlad should compile a portfolio of his work just for us to drool over...
Vlad, you should be keeping track of the location of your works, too, so that when the museums call to exhibit, you can find them.

Nice one Gary! I think Vlad should really put some pics in the gallery to show off his skills. He is a true craftsman.

So you are the one that got it. I am happy to hear that you like it.
Please don't forget to leave me an e-bay feedback. I check this to see if the item has arrived. So was completely surprised to come across this thread while trying to catch up on SRP.
Now, it was not really shave ready, it will probably be much smoother when you touch it up on the hone. As far as I was concerned I just put a bevel on it and did minor honing. I list the restorations with "shave ready" as an option because I do not know if the new owners want the priviledge of being the first ones to hone and shave with their razors after a restoration.
I will probably provide future restorations as "shave ready" to make it simpler. Of course I will have to test shave with them to make sure they really are "shave ready".
