    Hello bcon1205:

My good friend LinacMan has an excellent suggestion. I have that bowl and it works perfectly well for making good lather. Also, you could possibly face lather.

    Regards,

    Obie

I made a wood bowl for travel, but now I just palm lather or face lather. It is fast, convenient and lees to pack.

I like to travel light. Generally I'll either lather on my hand, or if there is one conveniently available, a saucer or something similar.
If you must take one, perhaps a small stainless steel one would stand up best to the rigours of travel.

I have a small candy dish that I bought from Meijer's for $1.98.

It is clear glass with 3 small feet and about 3.5" in diameter. What I really like about it is that the entire inside is covered with dimples like a golf ball. Lather really whips up nice in it.
