    the tip is silver, same tone as the rest of the razor. Any idea which one that is?

    It is late and I am old, is that a 'flare tip' ? IOW, the twist to open is flared at the bottom of the handle ? One way or the other I've shaved with those and they always gave me a comfortable shave. If the head hasn't been knocked out of alignment of something it may have been a bum blade.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I believe so, it looks flared. Were the flared tips different?

    IME they are a good shaver. I've got a British version but I believe the geometry is the same. Not as aggressive as the red tip super speed. The red tip was the best of the genre IMO.
