Thanked: 1Finding a good barber who straight shaves
I wasn't really sure where to post this so i'll put it here. I'm looking for a good barber who still straight shaves, but they seem to be hard to find. I'm looking for one in the northern colorado area along the front range, if anyone knows one or a place i could look without calling every barber shop in colorado please help. this seems to be a dying art among barbers and im curious as to how many still even offer it.

First I would check with the Health Dept to see if actual straight shaves are legal. In most cases either they aren't or insurance issues scare them away. At best they will use a shavette. Beware any barber shaves unless you know for a fact they are competent.

Hi,
They do not allow straight razor shaves in Illinois either. Only throw away blades.

Thanked: 1HAHAHA this is true with most barbers i know as well....its too bad people nowadays are so worried and touchy about everything and we cant get good old fashioned shaves I'm sure barbers back in the day and even today are smart enough to clean the blade, thats just common sense.
