edit: I'm an idiot, the description says you can use shaving cream and shave ATG to remove the hair

From what I was told in boot camp, shaving powders cause a chemical reaction and will remove the hairs so the person doesn't have to shave but the powder (which does become like a foam/lather) does have to be scraped off. As I understand it, this is for people with sensitive skin or are prone to ingrown hairs.
