The Friodur came in and . . . . .
Overall, it's in great condition but it's not mint as the seller stated.
1) There are scratches on the backside at the toe (tip) of the blade.
2) The blade shows excessive hone wear at the toe.
3) The honing (sharpening) of the razor is not even from toe to heel.
4) The razor is scratched around the spine (back) at the toe.
5) The edge is rolled-over at the toe.
Should I keep this razor? Do any of you recommend trying to even up the honing from toe to heel, or just go with it as is?

Tom,
Sorry to hear about the Friodur. Well, if you paid a good amount of money for it I'd try to get your money back. It might be salvageable but is it worth the significant amount of effort you'll have to put into it?

I'd have to agree with ed. Not knowing how much you paid for it the price would be the deciding factor.
Personally, whenever I get a razor off Eboy I always expect problems and am thrilled to no end when its a really pristine piece as advertised. If I want a perfect piece I'll buy from one of the vendors here.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I paid $51 + shipping.
I've gone ahead and filed a dispute. The Ebay/PayPal rules specifically opint out the improper use of the word Mint as an offense. I also added 'excessive hone wear on the spine' and 'uneven hone wear on the spine' as two additional problems with the razor.
Oh well, I have my eye on another Friodur that truly is MINT!

Tom,
Did you contact the seller to see if they would agree to a return/refund? Did the seller state 'no returns' in the auction? If so, you may not have any recourse. And of course you may get hit with a retaliatory negative feedback. But for $51, it should have been in better shape. It just goes with the territory when on eBay. I hope you're successful in getting your money back.
