Default Why I don't yet own honing equipment

Because everytime I get enough spare change to buy the stuff, I find another shave ready razor that I just MUST have....I see no end in sight for this downward spiral.....

    JL,
What's the problem? If you keep buying shave ready razors on a regular basis, none of them will ever see enough use to ever need honing again .
Let's see, assuming 10 shaves before needing a touch-up on a pasted strop, about 6 touch-ups before absolutely needing to return to the hone...the way I see it, if you buy a new shave ready razor every two months or less, you'll never have to own a hone...ever.

    FWIW,
    Ed

    Thanks FUD,
Just what I need, a well armed newly married and hacked off lady stalking me. I won't be sleeping very well for awhile.

    JL,

I think that in order to redeem yourself, and to protect your person from the enraged wife, you should order one of Tilly's starter sets so that you can say you have sharpening equipment in hand.

That way, you can show her that you're making a good faith effort to rein in that addiction that all of these other guys keep trying to drag you into. You can then say, "Well, Sweetheart, I bought these cheap old hones so that I can take care of my razors, and I'll start taking in a few to hone for "friends" in my spare time. I can make a little pocket money doing that."

If you're lucky, she'll believe you, and you'll have a pass on any new razors showing up in the mail.

Argue? just tell her you're the man of the house and what makes you happy is all she should want in life . If she argues with you just tell her that's not allowed and the sooner she realises it the sooner she can get about her task of making you happy

Let us know how it turns out
