Sharpest object ever made
Great link to a cool article on the newest "single molecule" sharpest point ever made. Looks like "sinclair molecule chain" (heh, see who gets it) isn't too far off.

You'd cut your face off for sure with that point...

You damn sure wouldn't want to shave with that if you have the DTs.

Hehehe, yeah. These types of points are needed for use in electron microscopy. Basically what happens (very simplified) in electron microscopy is that the atomic point pokes and prods around with an electron beam to generate am image. Very neat stuff.
One of my professors has a company that specializes in manufacturing all these esoteric scientific devices. The company has a machine that can produce these atomic "needles", so to speak, and does it quite well. Of course, the machine is something like $10k and the material that it needs to produce the points is gold

Thanked: 1Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, its a point and not an edge. I guess youd have to impale the whisker and pull it out by the root. Long shave but very close!

Well if you lined up a bunch of these side by side you'd have an edge!
