    Default Ross Cutlery

was curious as to whether or not Ross Cutlery also cleans the blades while they are honing them? meaning if u send them an ebay special will it come back a sharp mirror cutting machine?

how fine of a grit will they take to the blade? u get the blade back will it need to be taken to an 8k or swaty still? or will it only need some leather stroping and then shave away?

    thanks

Ross Cutlery regrinds the blades, not hone them. That means the profile of the blade is altered, making it a bit more hollow. Honing means sharpening the razor, and I doubt Ross are doing that.

Can they fix the blade contour? If you send them a frowning 8/8, can they turn it into say a straight 7/8?

My understanding was that Ross honed the razor after grinding it. The fellow I talked to said the razors came back with a satin finish (which most factory razors had anyway) I haven't received mine back yet, but a satin finish is probable. It's easy to mirror it up if you've got a good, uniform finish to start with. Taking a frown out is easy. Flatten out the edge on your stone before sending it to be reground.
