    Default Back/Reintroduction

    Hello everyone,

I guess this would be a reintroduction for me. I joined the site a few years ago when I was handed down a bunch of razors after my grandfathers passing. You can see my original introduction here http://straightrazorpalace.com/gener...-checking.html
Though I have continued shaving with my straights, I took a break from this forum for a little while until a couple of weeks ago. I got back on here to hone up on my honing skills as my last smooth shaver finally went past being able to freshen up on a pasted strop.

It sure felt good to get my stones back out and get things moving again. As a testament to how well I was able to get my first honing done I took the razor to my mother (long time barber) and had her finish up my haircut by shaving my neck and side burn area. She was impressed with the edge, and asked if I could bring it over to her house that night, to which I was treated by watching her do a complete shave on my father. He complimented on how nice the blade felt.

Anyway I have some long since forgotten restorations that I left in various stages that I'm sure I will be asking questions about. Nice to see some of the same helpful folks answering questions, and the forum chugging along.

    Thanks for a great place,
    Adam

Welcome back! I took a 3 year hiatus as well....just got back from a break since '08. I must say....a good straight shave sure is nice to have again. It's odd though...I'm still getting used to looking forward to shaving! I love it!

Thanks and welcome back yourself! I hear what you're saying, I took the last few days off from shaving so I can treat myself Friday night right before I go out. Kinda funny how a good classic shave turns a chore, into a treat!
