So far I have not got carried away with the "tools" of this hobby. I have with shave creams and soaps but I am looking for that just right combo of comfort in the shave + scent. I would like to think I am close lol.
I have 3 razors but only 1 is usable right now with another soon. If the other is better then I think I will be done with razors (we will see but don't want alot)
I have 1 hand made brush which I like
3 soaps that I never use because I don't like and a bunch of samples. If I get enough samples I will never have to buy a full one heh

Nice posts guys. When I shut the door and start my shave, I feel like a kid that just found his dads Playboy's. I feel like I'm getting away with something every time I strop a razor. It's a great pleasure to have this hobby and to have this great forum.

Yes, amongst the greatest pleasures in life is a straight razor shave and a new pair of cowboy boots.

Thanked: 8What's in my shaving den ?.
Well, I nearly have as many items as my wife, which says alot. There is now definitely a his and hers side.
Why do I use a straight. Well in fact RT, you started it by stating that a man that uses vintage Conway Stewart fountain pens should shave with a straight. Call it a challenge, whatever but there ain't any going back now. So my sincerest thanks RT for introducing me to this wonderful world of straight shaving and for a whole bunch of great mates on SRP.
Shaving for most men is a chore, something to be done, usually a hurried scrape and off you go.
For me, now, it's a pleasurable ritual and one of lifes great indulging treats. Think of how many men (and probably a few women ) are missing out.
When I mention it to other friends they can't believe it, why bother they say ?. Well I'll leave that up to them but I walk out of the door every morning with the proud knowledge that I've groomed myself well, in traditional fashion and feel all the better for it.
