    Colin,
It is still a very fine razor at a very fair price. There are not too many $49 razors out there and being a Dovo it will be a good shaver once sharpened. I just wanted to point out that there are very fancey Bismarcks too

A shave ready razor from a group member or one of the basic ones John Crowley sells will be in this price range too. I have Dovos as well but a different model that would run a bit more once sharpened.

    Welcome to our group too!

    Colin,

I've bought several items from Knifecenter and they sell quality stuff. That Bismarck is a good entry level razor but after you have it honed so that it's shave ready, you're at the $70 point, which puts you in the range of the razors offered by the folks on SRP.

I'd get the Bismarck from Tony if I were you. I am extremely satisfied with it on every level. It's one of my top 2 shavers, beautifully balanced and has a good "wow-effect".

    Ilija,
You got my only one. I had bought it for myself and decided I could not keep everything and that I was not going to carry them on a regular basis. I can get more identical to that but was not planning on it as regular stock.

Too bad. I love the razor. Ironically both of my best shavers come from Tonys, the other being that Taylor's Eye Witness I got from Tony Holmes. Do you think there will be enough of a demand for nicer Bismarcks for you to try carrying them?

    Red face Bismarck..

    G'Day Gentlmen,

I recently bought a Bismarck, true it was quite dull
    at first I was disappointed.

But a couple of rounds on my 6000 honing stone did the "trick".

Now that it's scary sharp - it's my favourite razor..

Oh, often the German Straight Razor aren't shave ready in general...
