I think you might be right Redwood. That does look like a blade from one of the medical instruments that cuts paper thin slices of tissue for mounting on slides for Pathology review. I've seen a few in the past, can't think of the name though. Microtome or something like that. If it came from one of those, I hope it was a new one
You'd need 2x4s to make scales for that beast
