Yes, I suppose there are some little extras involved in bringing your own razor to the barbershop for a shave. Many of us don't have the barber chair (my Dad bought TWO authentic ones when I was very young and sold them both!), but most of us have got the hot towels. And I'm like George Costanza in a way, because I'm not keen on getting massages from dudes.

I pride myself on shaving with a straight so its generally not something that I like to let someone else do, but every now and then I'll go with a buddy of mine to this place have a few bears shoot pool have a cigar get a haircut and a shave. The shave takes over an hour its so relaxing. As far as having a guy do it...I think its one thing I just wouldnt trust a girl to do.

RE: Think I found out how to get a REAL straight razor shave at my barber
You know, old school gentleman code said that the only woman allowed to touch a gentleman's body was his wife, so his tailor, doctor, and BARBER all had to be male!

It helps that its all guys that work there...manly guys...not the kind you see in most hair places...so I dont feel uncomfortable...Women arent even allowed in except the one that works the bar!
