    What does "NARU" mean?

    Thanks.

I've got some of both types. While the hollow ground ones have posed no problems, I still don't have a wedge up to anything more than an "acceptable" shaver. Any tricks to sharpening the wedges, or are they just somewhat inferior to hollow grinds?

Do a Forums search for "honing a wedge" and you'll get what has been bandied around recently. I haven't any tips to offer on that.

I think NARU stands for "not a registered user." From what I understand, it means their account has been suspended by Ebay for not conforming to their regulations.

Hey X... you have to "hine" a razor from behind?

Put a piece of electrical tape on the spine for "hining". That will elevate the sharpening angle slightly. Strop like you normally would without the tape. If one piece of tape doesn't do it, use two.

If you don't you'll never have to worry about hineing a razor ever again.

Ever seen an old timer strike a kitchen match on the seat of his jeans?

I think "hining" is like that, but I don't know if I'm brave enough to do it.

Thanks for the tip on the tape!

Well, the seller in that fraudulent auction refunded my bid, shipping, and the return shipping. Sent the hunk-o-junk back this afternoon. vive atque disce.
