Nancy Boy
If you have never used this product I suggest giving them a try one day. I found their shave cream to be pretty top notch stuff with a scent I loved ! I haven't got to use the after shave gel but I should tomarrow and I can't wait to use it. I don't think you can go wrong with it but this is just my opinion. For me the scent is just awesome !The lather I get from the cream is very nice and thick and I didn't find it hard to work up a thick lather either. Plus the lather stuck around long enough for me to strop with my slow paddle strop and even shave.

Just thought I would share incase someone hasn't heard of it or possibly was considering it.

Thanked: 0I will second and third this! I have been using the NB shave cream and aftershave gel for about 8 months. It is in my permanent rotation, and as a matter of fact, it is my go-to cream. I have never had any irritation using it, even when I feel I am having a "bad shave day". Excellent lubrication and 'cusioning', and a great scent. A lot of guys say it takes a bit more cream than Taylor's or Trumpers to work up a good lather, but I usually use a bit less than I do with Taylors or Trumpers.
pitbulls, the AS gel is great. I only use this or Thayer's rose petal witch hazel. The scent of the AS gel is the same as the shave cream, has a slight cooling effect, and is not heavy or oily feeling like some AS balms. Also, you really do only need a pea-sized dollop. A little goes a long way.
And if you haven't tried the NB soaps, do so right away. The soap scents are also excellent (Sweetgrass being my preferred scent), and the bars are HUGE! They may seem a bit pricey, but a bar will generally last me and my wife about a month and a half (and I shower twice a day usually). If you join the "club Nancy Boy" there is a discount on everything, shipping is free on orders over $25 (IIRC), and they send you free items, depending on the month. When I ordered 1 bar of soap, shave cream and the gel, they sent me 3 free bars of soap (because that was the special that month).
Plus their customer service is top notch.
Don't be afraid of the name, because if you have avoided the product because of the name, you will be missing out (but then again, more for me! )
O.K.

When I got my package there was a bar of soap in it of their signature scent and like you said, its a large bar and heavy. It just feels much heavier than a standard bar. So far it has worked fine for me because my skin will dry out kinda bad on some strongly scented soaps.
I did sign up for the club before I made the order because heck 15% off right off the bat sounded good to me.
I found out that a small dab is all you need on the AS gel. At least I didn't waste to much. The cooling effect was nice to me. Not to much tingle at all so I will continue using it.
I don't like the name either to be honest, but heck I am not going to let that stop me from using a great product. If you want to fist fight over it then thats fine the name of a product doesn't make me what its called. (this post was not aimed at anyone just incase. Just a general comment.
I used Mama bears essence of bamboo shave soap with the NB aftershave and that was a nice scent combo there, very clean mellow smell. Plus I got to use my super sharp new razor that I just got with all my other new goodies so it was a great shave this morning. Also got to show my dad how to work up lather and the better way to do it.

Larry, just a word of advice... do *not* take your nancy boy products to boot camp with you, and for God's sake don't take 'em aboard ship. You may be all "enlightened" and all, but trust me, you really don't want the constant aggravation something like that will bring.

Yea, all I would need as a rookie is something to fuel them to aggrevate me hehe.
I'll likely go back to the ol aresol cream and cheap razor during boot camp
