However, if I could choose, I'd take one that doesn't have elastic cuffs/waist as I wouldn't be taking this jacket snowboarding lol.
I havent found anything like that within our price range (only leather) except work jackets that look like you are going to pump gas in them, and I figured that wouldnt really work for most either. I think elastic is pretty much a standard unless you are going for leather, and even then it really bumps up the price. I looked and the only thing I found within our price range with no elastic really does look like a work jacket

I didnt think many people would like this...all of the other jackets that were chosen as favorite types (bomber jackets and parkas, etc) all have elastic.

    Default just my $.02

I know I'm in the minority, but I live where there is seldom a need for a heavy coat. For casual use, I generally just wear a heavy flannel shirt as a jacket in the winter. So, maybe you need to be thinking two jackets... a winter weight and a summer weight? Same logo design could work for both, I'd think. Or maybe a shell that has a decent (optional) liner... thus, shell only for us summer weight guys and the winter weight guys can add the liner?

    Hi Josh,
I know that you have done a lot of work on this and the jackets that you have picked out are really neat and the idea is cool. But Joe does have a good point since there are so many of us from different climates. I like #1 but it seems to be bit on the warm side. Having two to choose from as in light and heavy might be a good idea. I am not going to vote because now you are totally confused and may get some more feedback.
As Joe says my .02 cents.
if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

It is important that you vote, what if the lightweight jacket wins?

Here is my long winded explanation to those of you who want more than one type of jacket:

Its all dependent on how much you guys want to spend. There are setup fees, embroidery fees, minimum orders etc. If we were to go with say the company that does jacket 1 (which seems to be in the lead) we would be charged a setup fee for each type of jacket, but if there are less than six orders the application fee for that artwork doubles, so the more people order a single type of jacket on a single order the more spread out the setup fee is and the less impact it has to the overall cost. One of the jackets, (#2) is the lightest weight 3 season jacket the company offers (click the link above it to find out more), and this is the reason I put it on the list, I wasnt sure if people wanted something on the heavier side or on the lighter side. But from the first polls, not many people seemed interested in any of the lightweight jackets offered. However, out of fairness I will go with the majority vote because the amount of jackets ordered partially defines the price, and it wouldnt be fair for me to ignore the majority. If there are enough people that want a lighter weight jacket from the same company, I can do two printings of two different jackets at the same time, again its just a matter of how much people want to spend in each group. Also keep in mind that MOST (not all) companies wont even custom embroider clothing without a 6 – 12 person minimum (unless they charge ridiculous prices for their clothing or have hidden charges in their setup fees).

    Here is an example:

If there are only 4 people that want a light weight jacket you are looking at a standard set up fee between $75 - $115 + 10.00 - 16.00 per application so that adds between $22 - $32 PER jacket to the price, and that doesnt the jacket itself, or shipping

Now, say 10 people want a particular jacket the standard setup fee for that is only $75 - $115 + 5.00 - 8.00 and only adds $12.50 - $16.50 per jacket including embroidery. This is why I am doing the polls.

The setup and application fees are generally dependent upon the stitch count of the logo, and the number of logos requested (front, back, etc).

What I plan to do is get a total price for the jacket that wins this poll based on the number of votes it has received. I then plan to have another post with commitments for the jacket after I get a sample of what it will look like with the embroidery of our logo. I will then go back to the company with the definite total quantity needed and that will give me a definite total price.

If enough people vote for the lightweight jacket and it comes in second place (it still may come in first place, you never know), I can do the same for that jacket at the same time. If enough people want a lightweight jacket and dont like jacket 2, I will be happy to get prices, styles, etc of lightweight jackets, but again I will need an idea of how many people are interested, the types of fabrics people want (so I can see if we are talking about embroidery, screen printing, or other methods), and what people want to spend.

Also keep in mind, that just because you may not end up liking the winning jacket, there are other products in the future (or even in the same order) that can be printed such as:

    Shirts:

    Chamois long sleeve shirts:

    Hats:

    T-shirts:

And many other items including work shirts, bags, dress shirts, almost anything you can think of, it all depends on the company we choose to list our artwork with and how much people want to spend (the samples I listed above are from the company that makes jacket 1, again, simply because its in the lead at the moment.)

I just chose to concentrate on jackets first, because we are approaching fall/winter. I liked the idea of jackets and it would be silly to do a first run in spring when no one would get to wear them for 4 months or so, and they are the most difficult to design so I wanted plenty of time and I wanted to make sure there was an actual interest (which there seems to be)

Please also keep in mind that the company we list our artwork with will also have to clean up our logo and remove the background etc (which isnt free), so again the more jackets we order on the first run, the cheaper additional items will be because our artwork will be ready to go. Also, the more expensive overall the initial item, the more easy it is to absorb those one time costs without getting ripped off (example: if a jacket costs $60.00 and we have to pay an addtional $8.00 for artwork and setup, thats not bad, but if a hat costs $5.00 and we have to pay an additional $8.00 for setup and artwork, well thats a whole other story.)
I hope that clears things up.

I would personally go for #2 with the Gore-Tex option. That would be more useful in the midwest. I can always put on something warmer underneath, but rainproofing is damned nice. Just my $.02

I havent found anything that is a bomber style jacket which is light weight, but if you want to look around for something like that for those of you in warm weather I will do all the setup and sample work for it. I just cant imagine a bomber jacket that would look right if it was lightweight and the majority of people that didnt like the last jacket poll didnt like it because there were no bomber style jackets. I know #3 looked really comfortable for those fall and spring days or in the case of AZ those fall and srping nights, I really like that one.

If jacket 1 is the one, would we get the choice of color that we wanted or is there only one of the two that would be the chosen jacket?
