Are there other sites out there besides Ebay???
Does anyone know of any other websites be it auction or normal sales where I can find old straight razors? Ebay can't be it, there must be others. The older the razors, obviously the harder they are to find.

JL,
Try doing a google search for online auctions.
I know that there are others out there but
I can't think of the names.

I have NOS henckels that I love, but shaving with my new razor which was hand forged by the same man who was at that time Appointed cutlers to His Majesty King George IV in 1821 and then chosen as one of 5 firms to make cutlery speciments for presentation to the Duke of York in 1826. I cant explain the feeling, but it is pure magic, it makes me feel like a new man....it is just so special in my eyes it makes my heart skip a beat...as hokey as that may sound...it is just so very very special.

I've seen razors for sale on both www.shopgoodwill.com and auctions.yahoo.com. I usually check the Goodwill site every two or three days; I haven't bought a razor from them, but there's usually one or two up at a time, and since it's through the Goodwill thrift stores, they're a little more reliable than your average Ebay jerk. That doesn't mean their expertise is any better, though. Right now they have an auction with one item listed as a "Strait Razor" and which actually looks more like a pocket knife.

JL I understand you completely I feel like I am rescuing the razors I buy, mainly because the dealers show them no respect and leave them out in the rain its sacrilege, they may have survived 100+ years and these jerks can ruin them in days. I buy up all the razors I can find except the lost causes ones and offer them to more deserving people whom will show them the respect a real antique deserves.
The best thing I found out on this site was the superb restoration jobs SRP members are performing giving the razors chance of lasting another 200 years.

Ya it really is something. I got an old W&B in pretty bad shape, but it has so much character. I just got Bill's CD so hopefully I'll be able to turn it into a shaver eventually
