Thanked: 0Razor for Grandpa
Not sure if this sub-forum is the right one to ask for advice on this matter.
My GD (82-YO) Told me about the old days, when having a good barber and a good SR was as important as having a good wife and not cheering for the New York Yankees.
I would love to give him a great razor for his coming BD to revive his days of glory. I am in a budget, but please, don't limit yourselves, I would love to give him a nice custom razor, something unique, but I really wouldn't know were to find them, and at a decent price, some people out there have razors that are more expensive than my car , but again, who knows, I may get the rest of my brothers to cooperate if that is needed.
I like the Alex Jacques razors, but they seem to be scarce (but then again, that 's the idea of having a custom razor, right? ) and I have no idea how much they cost, so far, I am unable to find one in the market.
Ok, thanks guys and let me know.

Thanked: 0Thank you guys, as far as shaving now, he is using an old-gold-like Gillette (no idea what model, from what I can gather, seems like one of those "aristocrats"), he already has a brush... but I will get a new one for him and a strop, he knows a lot about razors, knifes, old comics and baseball.
I am exploring your website, I see that there is a lot to learn.... never expected this amount of info, thanks to you I will find a good option... and who knows, I might grow some cojones and try one SR too.
