At least they buyer will know exactly how long the blade is....

And he can measure how large the cuts and nicks are....

That's "one of a kind" alright. One of a kind that should always have their scales replaced!

Maybe the old craftsman got a simultaneous case of cataracts, shaking hands and senility?

Although I don't want that razor, there's something cute about it. I would picture a wizened old man in 1932 repairing his broken razor scales with pieces of an old yardstick so that he could keep the razor in action rather than buying a new one. I bet there's a story there somewhere.

I'm glad they didn't learn how to apply a CA finish or I could be in trouble...

I bet that seller thinks there is a lot of interest in his razor! Little does he know how it measures up to a real razor.

Guys, even though that razor wasn't expertly restored the way most of us would want to do it, I think it's unique and, as russellnyc put it, tells a story. The guy who owned it made do with what he had and kept it a shaver by using measuring sticks for scales. After all, pretty scales are gravy. It's the steel that shaves. I happen to think the razor is an interesting item that borders on folk art. And no, I'm not gonna bid on it.
