Default Announcing the upcoming site interview series.

I am very excited to announce to all of you the inauguration of our new site interview series.

Beginning on or about August 1 we will commence a professional interview series. The concept is to present to our members some of the individuals who have contributed mightily to the current state of the art of straight razor and wet shaving. We will learn from these interviews and gain a better insight to the development of this resurgence in wet shaving and become better acquainted with these individuals and their contribution. Over the upcoming months we will learn not only what makes these folks "tick" but also gain specific and general knowledge in their specific areas of expertise.

The first interview will be with no other than Lynn Abrams. Lynn has probably done more to advance the resurgence of Straight Shaving then anyone else I can think of. Personally, I can't wait for the first interview.

These interviews will be conducted by our own "Obie". For those of you who don't realize it Obie has been professionally involved in the entertainment industry for years and his Bio I have attached demonstrates his abilities.

    ************************************************** ******************

Obelit (“Obie”) Yadgar enjoyed a dual career as radio broadcaster and writer.
He spent 30 years behind the radio microphone at commercial and NPR stations, mostly as announcer and programmer in classical music and jazz. He also held stints in National Public Radio (NPR) as feature reporter, essayist and interviewer. His list of interviews included such luminaries as John Updike, Vincent Price, Mel Torme and Judy Collins. Obie left radio in 2004, but he continues to work as a commercial voice talent.
Obie started his professional writing career as a U.S. Army combat correspondent in Vietnam. Since then he has written hundreds of feature stories and essays for the print and the electronic media.
In addition to short stories, Obie’s published works include two books. His first novel Will’s Music” is a sweet and sentimental love story set in the world of radio and dance and based in San Francisco, where he lived for some years.
Obie’s Opus, his non-fiction book, is a collection of amusing stories and anecdotes from the lives of the great composers, with a sprinkling of autobiographical notes. Currently Obie is working on his second novel. For more information on his books, send him a personal message.

Obie, who is of Assyrian heritage, was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and lived in Tehran, Iran, until his early teens. He has visited many of the world’s major cities, with London, Paris and Vienna topping his list of favorites. Currently he lives with his wife Judith in Milwaukee, Wisconsin — but never stops thinking of California.
He divides his love of traditional shaving between the double edge razor and the straight.

    Cool!

I can't wait to read them.

It will be in print. Down the road we will explore other ways of doing it.

Will the mods, along with Obie, create the questions? Can members suggest topics or subjects for the interview?

I guess member suggestions and questions would almost be there entire point of this website, though. Just a thought.

OK call me crazy, but, since Obie has a wonderfully velvet voice AND radio experience, would it be at all possible to create "radio" interviews? I for one would be happy to dedicate my time producing them if it ever came to that. I can hear the jingle already...
