Thanked: 0First cut!
I feel compelled to brag about how I received my first straight cut. While most probably have their first cut somewhere in the vecinity of their face, I did something far less dramatic. I cut my finger. I was sanding a black/tarnished blade with some 180-paper when I suddenly fumbled and ended up with the edge biting into my poor tender flesh. It's a small (~1cm) shallow nick that is placed on my left hands middle finger just above the nail.
If it scars I will forever treasure this as how I learned that even a blunt, tarnished scrap razor have an edge that is hungry for blood. In fact, I suspect that the razor did this on purpose as it finally saw the opportunity to do damage once again.
It was my first cut, but I bet it won't be my final.

I've managed to do something quite similar while restoring razors. Fortunently the blade was almost parallel to the skin when it happened. Didn't go in very deep but I kind of shaved off abit of the epidermis
I haven't had any serious injury while doing my work; but, seeing as these razors are quite sharp while at their dullest, I realize the small little nip here and there is bound to happen.

I think more people cut their hands than their faces. Just a hazard of using a straight I guess.

Yep, I've cut my hand and fingers too many times to remember while handling and cleaning straights. It goes with the territory.
