My wife is not used to seeing me well-shaved very often. She would never imagine I can enjoy shaving either. Luckily for both of us (until now), she likes me with 3 - 5 days' growth on my face. For her it's carelessly masculine, sexy and has a bit of bad boy-ishness... Actually, I think she prefers this to short scratchy stubble. And before I almost never shaved 2 days in a row.

Given how much I enjoy the straights, she might have to adjust...

My wife likes it, as long as I keep the razors far out of reach of our toddler. She bought me a Dovo for father's day this year, and I've been adding a few here and there over the summer. It really is an addicting hobby, one that, unlike my typewriter addiction, earns admiriation from my friends and family. Razors also take up a lot less space.

Catherine likes the fact that I have a hobby, especially the scale making part.

Yesterday however she cleaned the dining table (I use it when honing) and dropped my 6000 grit jap waterstone, smashed to bits. The guys at the hardware store who know me now gave me 25% off a new one plus I ordered a nortons 4000/8000 whilst I was there. Oh well a guy must have his tools / toys.

My daughter however thinks it's really cool shaving with a straight.

My wife is supportive of all the things I try to do the "old way": making bread in a wood fired oven (she won't buy bread at the store now) growing a heritage garden etc...she thought straight shaving was dangerous at first...mostly because I didn't know what I was doing...but now she would never let me go back to a disposable, she likes the close shave...very much...which makes us both happy

My lady has a fairly positive or sometimes passive approach to my shaving and I think she regards it as sexy. I don't have (nor am likely to) a large collection. All the time I spend here talking about it however, now that can burn her butt.

I showed this post to my wife. Her response was that her option wasnt up there. Hers would be:
"likes watching.. but.. really really likes when you use them on me! "

My wife could care less, as long as I don't buy too many razors at one time. She thinks I have too many hobbies as it is.

I am afraid my wife will use my straights on me...not because I have to many (which I dont) and not because I buy expensive razors (which I do at times) but because I spend WAY to much time on SRP that I could be using to spend with her...but she said I needed a hobby lol, so I got one. I guess the grass is always greener...lol Anyway, its more important that I hide my chat window than my razors lol, although she does get annoyed that I now take more time in the bathroom than she does.

I am sure she would be more supportive of my hobby if it didnt take so much time away from her, but Im on the road most of the time, so she views my time at home as HER time...

so where's the option,: "She uses a straight on her legs" (coz that's what mine does and she was very pleased with the result. as was I)
