Thanked: 0Another Wonderedge sold for $188!
Hey everyone,
I found this a few days ago and figured I'd try to snag it at the end. Before 60 seconds it was still at about $40 but I was quickly outbid on my $100 and the final sale was $188. I'm thinking ppl might have gotten a bit carried away on this one. Any thoughts? Is the wonderedge even all it's cracked up to be? I wasn't going to pay that much. Maybe I'll look for a goldenedge. I'd like to know if anyone has one and their thoughts on it......cheers,

I have seen them go for around 125.00 in better condition than that as recently as 8 weeks ago.

That's getting up there. I don't know if it's the photo or the background but it looks like the blade is kinda wavy plus there's some rust on the front of the shank. It looks like a nice 6/8 razor that should clean up well though, but at $188 it does seem kinda high. Bidder's frenzy perhaps?

My thoughts are you guys should keep bidding for these and ignore the inexpensive oldies that I like!

Blade seems to have a frown near the toe. Find it hard to believe it's unused. IMHO more a collector's item than a shaver or the edge would need major rehoning.

Thanked: 324I've seen them go up to around 300.00. Are they worth it? Apparently they are to some but not to me. I had one and sold it because I felt the razor was overvalued in the market. It went for $225.00, which was worth more to me than the razor was. I shaved with it a number of times and it shaved wonderfully. It shaved every bit as well as a number of the best shavers in my shaving rotation.

Thanked: 9I think I'll have to re-orient myself to other razors. I should be able to do better than that for 188 - no? Or even if I pay a bit more, it would be for something custom.
Too bad I just missed a Puma that went for 40 yesterday. It had a lot of hone wear but I would have liked to try it
Cheers

It's all hype, really.
If Lynn had mentioned that he was using a Dubl Duck Goldedge instead of a Wonderedge in his shaving video, I bet their prices would be a lot higher than they currently are. Now, I'm sure his Wonderedge shaves really well for him and all, but does that mean every last one of them that pops up on eBay is worth a two or even three-hundred dollar investment? Well, that's a question for all the potential buyers out there to ask themselves. But in my opinion, it's definitely not.
There's plenty of great steel out there that doesn't have two little ducks etched into it.

Thanked: 4942I have seen mint ones go as high as $300. Looks like the craze may be dimishing. They are awesome shavers in any case. Used to be my absolute favorite.
