    Default Dovo Bismarck point

Is the 6/8 Dovo Bismarck a round point? I know they sell a spike point 5/8 at classicshaving.com, but the 6/8, from the picture, looks to be a round.

    But from wopman's pic http://http://straightrazorpalace.com/component/option,com_zoom/Itemid,23/page,view/catid,55/PageNo,1/key,1/hit,1/

the point looks oblong. I prefer spike points over rounds, and have been hesitating on the Bismarck because I thought it was a round point.

If it is more of a oblong, I might give it a whack.

    Thanks.

Yeah, looks to be a French Point to me. I have a 3/8 French Point and it's every bit as nice as my prefered spikes. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you.

French points are just fine for detailed work. I love those spiked singers' looks, but my best shaver is a round. I may get a Frenchie just to complete my points collection as I already have spikes, rounds and a wedge with a barber's notch.
