Thanked: 9wow - nice blade.
I also like how you casually threw in "I popped the scales off" - sounds like "I met this girl in the bar yesterday..." or "I just kicked him in the head and knocked him out..."
Cheers

well had my first shave with the F.Renyolds ,not bad
I couldn't`t believe how easy it was to hone the thing ,all of 10 min,it took me longer to get the stone ready. Are all frame backs this easy as this is my only one ,it usually takes me 1-2 days on and off to get them shave ready after I`ve finished with them ,sometimes a week and the one I made from ATS34 S/S I haven`t finished with that one the steel is very hard and I`ve had enough for the moment ,I`ll get back to it though
Anyway I think this one is a keeper
Kind regards Peter

Is that true tortise or celluloid. Since it doesn't say England on it just Sheffield it means it predates that legal requirement. I would hazzard a guess that its about 1900 but if its true tortise then I would say 1880s.
