Thread: What do these numbers mean?

I have 3 5/8 Fridurs that are all stamped 70-1/2. I'm looking at another Henckels that's maked 77.

Do these numbers refer to the size of the blade in some way?

I'd guess the numbers refer to the models. Just in case, measure the length of the blade with a metric ruler and see how many milimeters long it is. 70-80mm is the plausible length of a blade as it's in the 3" range.
