Default Razor learning curve / relationship development

I am noticing the more I use a particular razor, the more my results with it improve. Obviously, this is different for all people and razors but I was wandering if the long-time users have observed a "rule" - e.g. a minimum of XXX shaves to develop a feel for the razor, etc.

On the other hand, improved results do not have to equal increased enjoyment from the razor. With some of my razors it just seems I don't enjoy them as much as others.

    How about you?

The enjoyment factor is what puts a razor in my rotation...regardless of how well it shaves. The rest get sold.

I would say a 6 months of daily use will get you there with the technique, stroping and shaving wise...

And if you do an inventory of body parts and find nothing missing, you get a special SRP certificate.

I haven't sold a razor yet but I have 14 now and I like some more than others. So I'll probably sell something and then get something new to try.

I find that if I'm gonna get nicked, it will be on the first day of using a new razor, and invariably it comes when I first put the razor to my face, it'll just put a line down my cheek. I suspect its some combination of blade width and inertia.

If I don't enjoy using a certain razor then I don't use it. I bought a $180 dovo and hate it and replaced it my rotation with a $10 ebay job with the only identification being "harmony"

Hey, its like driving a car. If you can drive one you can drive them all it just takes a bit to familiarize yourself and its the same with razors. Its as simple as that.
