Thanked: 66My trip to Shanghai in two weeks, advise please.
The 14th of this month I will be traveling to Shanghai China, in which I will spend the weekend in the city, probably near the train station. But then we travel 40 minutes NW to Changzou(sp?) for the remainder of the work trip. Although I will have the weekend free to site see. Wherever is close enough to get to by train and get back to work Monday morning.
Any advise for the area? I normally travel to Italy for work, but this will be a first for an Asian country.
Would it even do any good to try and find some nice razor dealers? Or is it all going to be china junk?
My google is failing me on the searches.....
Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never been there. But I'd say: don't toy around over there.

My rec. is, wander a few back streets looking for something like an old tool or cutlery shop, then search for stones. You want something blackish, reading "東山砥石”. If they're cheap, buy a lot and send me one.

Thanked: 66Yeah I am thinking I should not risk packing a straight in my checked baggage. Just because...
My co-worker is from the area (he will be with me) and he has a sister who lives in Shanghai so I will follow his lead on everything.
I work for a very large corporation that will give me a special phone number that I call in emergencies. I keep picturing in my head that a black van with teams of mercenaries will come save me. In reality it's probably just an attorney... . I really have no clue other than it's some very powerful people and they get shit done. That is what I have heard.. Let's hope I don't find out.Last edited by sidmind; 10-05-2011 at 04:41 AM.
