Would you?
I'm taking the children to their swimming lesson, at the local public pool, after school. Its usually something their mother does and she has a swim while they do their lesson. Since she can not go tonight I shall take the opportunity to get a few lengths in and a shower after.
I really need a shave and am tempted to take a stropped straight, brush and soap with me as my kids always take an age to get dressed after and I reckon I'd have a rather hydrated beard after an hour in the water.
I probably won't but I wondered who amongst us would?Regards

I'd let the kids shave me. I'm sure they'd love it.

I definitely would. Will they consider it a dangerous knife in merry old England?
Right now I have my Dovo Shavette with my Frank badger brush and some Proraso to shave with on my lunch break. I've got a nasty cold and by the time the kids are down at night I'm swigging Nyquil and passing out and come morning I'm moving slow.
I've been known to take the same set up to the local mountain in the winter and shave up there. After my day job I'm a professional ski patroller a few days a week so if there's a slow night or if I work Friday at my day job, Friday night and then Saturday at the mountain I take my razor and shave at the top of it using my goggles as a mirror.
In fact, this is what I have with me right now:

And here's a cell snap from last winter:

A the top of a mountain? Now that's a cool shave!
Yeah, having a str8 in a public place would probably be seen as a carrying an offensive weapon.Regards

Thanked: 114I commute by bike and always shave pre-ride (as opposed to shaving once I’m here in building’s gym) because I don’t really feel like answering 1,000 questions when I whip out my handy straight razor. But the real reason I don’t shave at the gym is that I’d be worried about getting bumped mid-shave. Even at home I don’t let anyone within 10-15 feet of me while shaving. In a crowded public restroom I don’t think I would be afforded half that distance. Just people moving around me – even if they were careful - would make me uncomfortable enough that I wouldn’t really enjoy the shave. Lastly, my luck someone would steal my razor while I was in the shower. :-)

I think you should have a nice shave before you go jump into the pool with all that lovely chlorine
I made that mistake last year and it was a big one. Feel the Burn.

I didn't, just had a great swim and will indulge in a hot toweling later.
TrilliumLT, so chlorine is like a bath full of alum Looool!
I agree that the thought of jostling isn't promising, and the thought of letting my kids loose with a straight.....well that doesn't bear thinking about.Regards
