Saving money... NOT!
Hello people,
when I started SR I told myself ''great! I'm gone save some $$ on catridge, it's gone a be a great way to save a bit''. But after a couple of years it turn out to be couple of 1000$$$++ more of spending on nice razors, trying soaps & creams, brushes, AS and all... at the end I LOVE IT!!!!
cheers
Dominic

+1, I was in the checkout line in the supermarket the other day. I was looking at the rack with the cartridges for razors @ 12 for $28.00. I'll take my straights any day and the more the merrier.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, I still have hopes for saving a few pennies in the long run.
I just need to stop buying more razors and live to be like really old...Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Bjørnar would have to find the fountain of youth to ever live long enough to save money.
Eventually consider becoming a vampire.

Just for the fun of it I did a calculation based on my old shaving routine where I used two packs of cartridges each month.
I have razors, strops, brushes, soaps and aftershaves worth about $ 2750, two packs of cartridges of the brand I used is $ 35.
2750 divided on 35 gives 78,57 packs of cartridges, divided on 12 months tells me I have shaving gear worth 6,54 years use of cartridges (not counted the canned goo)
Given that I have soaps etc. to last at least 5 years and (in theory) I don't need any more straights I'm actually going to start saving money before the kids move out.
Edit: Forgot to include the hones, so I guess I can add about a year of cartridge suppliesLast edited by Zephyr; 10-06-2011 at 09:20 PM.

And just think, that 100 year old Wade & Butcher that you will one day pass on/down will have passed through a few different chins.
Now how much does a 100 years worth of Mach 3's cost?
