    I was just curious what sort of excuses some of the others here might have used to buy that newest shave soap, razor, hone set, power tool, etc. I thought it'd be fun to see what your justification was the last time your significant other needed to know just WHY you HAD to have that newest shaving related item in your arsenal. After all, you DO only have ONE face... Sorry if it's been done before.

    Open her closet and count her shoes,purses or whatever fashion object she has more of than she needs. All the justification you need.

    I just ask SWMBO if she really needed another pair of shoes or a new purse. Debate settled.

    My significant other meows and I open a can of cat food and he is happy. He takes no notice of my spending habits as long as the water dish, and dry food are filled, and the litter box is clean. As far as "worth a thousand bucks in twenty years"........ the way it is going in twenty years that will probably get you a gallon of milk.

    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Oh what very ungentlemanly puns I just talked myself out of typing here. Instead, I will say, it's likely you have the best "cat" around. Perhaps more of us should have considered this option. And point out how lucky your third generation of cat will be, that you can still afford milk.

    I'm the one who gets to the mail first.
    If she's suspicious about one, it goes like this;
    I look at her with this surprised, questioned tilt of the head and ask her, "Sweetie, are you O.K.? This is the same razor you questioned me about 6 months ago. Sounds like you've had a rough day, how about we hit that Italian restaurant you like so much. Meanwhile, tell me how your day went sweetie "

    If you have to make excuses for your actions,you have a problem from the gitgo.
    Been married for 35 yrs (happily)
    Edict in the beginning was:I am what I am,so are you,you cannot change me,I will not expect nor do I want you to change.
    I will work hard to provide food and shelter for you and our children (3 of them)we both busted our butts to give them fine educations (we did without,but we worked together).
    Today the kids are all gone,we are still together (happily).
    I come and go as I please,so do's she,she buys what she can afford, so do I.
    I want to go bust ducks with my buds for a week,I go,she wants to go on a cruise with her sisters,she go's,no issues..
    I do not care what my wife buys,she feels the same about me,because we trust each other.
    Life is really very simple.

    Congratulations! This is what we all aspire to, and I'd say those goals are lofty in this day and age. But I was just trying to have some fun. I do have the same freedoms you do with regards to spending. As does SWMBO. She does ask though, why I bought this or that item, and sometimes I find my excuses are a bit silly. It hasn't yet stopped me from buying anything. Although she does remind me of those few things that money might bettter be spent on, it's not turned into anything ugly. So I figured it'd be fun to see if anybody else had any funny one's to share. Congratulations again and wish me luck towards the same goals!
