Okay....If you're still looking for a brush how about this; A Kent T12 replacement for a brush I got from them on the 'Bay. Never used, still in the red cylinder. It's brand new and I doubt I'll ever use it. I know I don't contribute much here, but the brush is yours for the giveaway if you'd like it. Let me know. Thanks.

Send it over to Lynn... He has periodic giveaways and that would be a great prize.

No worries. Thanks for letting me know. It's a cool thing your doing here JL. The shaving forums I belong to have some of the finest men I have ever met in terms of generosity. I know I've learned lots here and over at SMF and B&B. It's nice to give back sometimes.

Thanked: 2so if the guy has to be a valued and contributing member, but can't afford to buy anything, what is he contributing in the way of info for SR users?
Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea, and I was thinking of finding a brush I could part with before I saw you already had some brushes, but you may have trouble finding a new guy who contributes alot, but doesn't have any equipment. Most new guys are asking the questions, not answering them.
I'm not trying to rain on the parade, honestly. I know that "free for all" types of giveaways are hard to organize. I know that the SRP razor giveaway's generate a number of "new" guys that get a great razor for FREE and then hit the road, never bothering to offer a thank you.
I don't know of a better way to do it, and if I'm misunderstanding this, please explain. Also, I don't want a new guy with no cash to NOT enter, because he thinks he doesn't contribute enough info. Just looking for a bit of clarification.

I had well over 100 posts before I even got my first razor. I asked questions often, and participated in off topic posts, or questions regarding things I knew about, which may or may not have been shaving related. Sometimes I would go find a link to a product that someone who wasnt as internet savvy wanted information about, etc. And I would be in the chats often which dont so much revolve around shaving as they do with the SRP community, I would say shaving is only 50% of the sunday chat.
I think there are quite a few members who were in similar spots. In fact I distinctly remember quite a few members who joined and posted quite a bit and eventually were given a razor by lynn. Some also evaluated soaps or creams from our vendors as both a way to help the vendor and were rewarded with free soap. So I dont think its that far out of an idea, this is just a way that someone can jump right in just like they would if they could actually afford to.

Thanked: 2No problem. If the folks are out there, then giveaway! I'm on odd shifts so I usually "participate" around 11pm-4am my time, so I don't visit the chats so much. If there is a demand, I totally understand. I didn't realize there were some many guys here with weeks/months invested without so much as a razor. Maybe I'll have to plan my own giveaway.
