It's funny what people will do when faced with a sharp edge. The first straight I ever showed to my mother was a Dovo with (thankfully) a factory edge. And what did she do?? Ran her thumb along the edge of the blade!! She says, "wow, that is sharp"! Haha! That is what I just told you! LOL! Thankfully she didn't have much pressure and only resulted in the equivalent to a paper cut....but still......really???

Yes, it seems that a great many folks are compelled by some unseen force to "test the blade", and this almost always results some type of thumb test. I guess in fairness, most people just don't realize what it takes to get an edge sharp enough to shave with, and how easily it can be damaged. Best Regards, Kenny

Even worse than that Max, is some poor Indiana farmer finding a body in his cornfield; buried with a straight razor(damn fine one, with G-10 scales!) & strop.

There are very few who are allowed to touch my razors. You know who you are.

That's why my list of "friends" is VERY short.

I take a collection with me every time I go to a show or festival. And I try to get people intersted by showing them, and doing shave demonstrations. Always, without fail, some schmuck does that, and when I cry out "STOP" they continue all the while saying "I know what I'm doing" makes me want to thrash them!
