It's funny what people will do when faced with a sharp edge. The first straight I ever showed to my mother was a Dovo with (thankfully) a factory edge. And what did she do?? Ran her thumb along the edge of the blade!! She says, "wow, that is sharp"! Haha! That is what I just told you! LOL! Thankfully she didn't have much pressure and only resulted in the equivalent to a paper cut....but still......really???

Yes, it seems that a great many folks are compelled by some unseen force to "test the blade", and this almost always results some type of thumb test. I guess in fairness, most people just don't realize what it takes to get an edge sharp enough to shave with, and how easily it can be damaged. Best Regards, Kenny

I have a few razors that I don't use for shaving, I bring them out for showings and none others...

There are very few who are allowed to touch my razors. You know who you are.

I have a policy . You break it you buy it.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 480I take a collection with me every time I go to a show or festival. And I try to get people intersted by showing them, and doing shave demonstrations. Always, without fail, some schmuck does that, and when I cry out "STOP" they continue all the while saying "I know what I'm doing" makes me want to thrash them!
