Thread: Got a straight razor, need to know info

Hello all.

I'm beginning my journey into straight razor shaving and I recently inherited a razor. I can't seem to find too much information on it and I was told that this is the best website to visit. The razor is called a C.V. HELJESTRAND MK NO.7 straight razor. It has a black handle and a burgundy case. It also has 3 crowns in between the M and K initials. If there is someone that can bring me up to speed or point me in a good direction to find out about this razor it would be most helpful. Also, since im not used to forums and "looking" for information can someone refer me to a good beginner website to learn the proper way to shave with a razor.

You found a GREAT site to learn! Check out the instructions in the Wiki, get your razor (Heljestrand made great razors!) honed, and ask any questions you have here on the forum. Depending on where you live, there might be members who could give you some lessons/help in person, too...
