    Default Bestseller Reprised

    Gentlemen,

Periodically I like to reprise a favorite topic of of mine: What shaving products would you take with you to that rustic cottage in Yorkshire to write your bestselling novel? I do this because our tastes change, and it's always curious to evaluate where we are in the world of traditional shaving.

Why Yorkshire for me? Well, I always hope some of Jane Austen will rub off on me. Not only that, but I feel Yorkshire's misty and introspective mood fits my personality, writing style, and literary subject. My other choices would be the south of France, the Spanish and Portuguese coasts, the ... Well, there are many places. Nothing, however, frames my mood and taste as Yorkshire.

So here we go: If you were to go a place of your choice to write that bestseller, where would it be, and what shaving products would you take with you. Now, it gets tricky here, and we must stay focused, gentlemen. Only one example of each product. In other words, one straight razor, one double edge razor, one soap, one cream, and so on.

By the way, if you plan on growing a beard while writing your bestseller, you're at the wrong address here. Again, only one example of each, please. Here is my supply:

Straight razor: Majestic Robert Williams, 7/8 quarter hollow humpback with a sweeping smile, Spanish point, and white bone scales.
    Strop: Kanayma 90000
Double edge razor: Feather stainless steel with Super Iridium blades.
Brush: Thater 24 mm. silver tip.
    Pre-shave: Castle Forbes.
Soap: Martin de Candre in wooden bowl.
    Cream: Castle Forbes lavender.
    Astringent: Alum.
    Balm: Trumper Coral Skin Food.
Aftershave: Truefitt & Hill's Spanish Leather.
    Medicine: Single malt scotch.

That's about does it, gentlemen. The bestseller is a sweet dream, but what's life without dreams. Please keep the focus: one product per category. Many thanks.
