Thanked: 15best shave ever
I just want to share that I've just had the best shave ever with my straight. It was a dubl duck goldedge NOS I won off *bay for too much money a month or so ago. I spent some time getting the edge just right on my coticule with the dilucot method, and had shaved with it before with less than stellar results, but this time was different. I stropped it with my new home made kangaroo strop, and really stretched my skin to get the whiskers under the angle of my jaw with jaw dropping results. Got a closer shave for the first time than with my DE or my mach III. If I keep getting this close a shave with my straights, I will abandon the others permanently. Just wanted to share this one with all of you for the advice and fellowship of the board. thanks again! Ed

Congratulations! But just so you know, your shaves will get even better in due time, which will make your DE and Mach soon obsolete, unless you're in a hurry and don't have the time or attention a straight requires. Don't get discouraged if you hit a bump in the straight shaving road, we all have one sooner or later, just learn from the mistake and continue to enjoy!
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

That is great news, sounds like you are well on your way there.
Like ReardenSteel says, it will get even better.
Give it time and your best effort, and you will soon have the very best shave a man can getBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 15thanks for the encouragement. Getting a shave like this is like hitting a golf drive right down the pike.... It makes me want to do it again and again. Just like the drive, though, I'm sure it will take more practice to hit it like that again. If it goes left it's a hook, if it goes right it's a slice, if it goes straight, it's a miracle LOL.

With shaving, as with driving, you'll find the hooks are more rewarding than the slices.
