I Just found some diamond paste that I've had for years for general metal polishing and used it on the canvas side of my strop. I stropped the Maxard that I just cleaned up and made my first attempt at honing which was so so. I noticed that the edge was much more mirror like and decided to try it out even though it's the weekend and I usually don't shave since I have to 5 days a week. I used the Art of Shaving Sandalwood starter kit that I just received today and got a super smooth shave on my neck which is usually problematic for me.
So in summary I was pleased with myself and the Art of Shaving products were great as well!
