Ha what a great thread!! I own 60 odd razors (more in transit) - my partner has seen about 20 of them. I get a sick thrill out of getting them into the house without her knowing lol. I thought I was ready to stop after my Puma Gold, but I somehow won two more razor auctions today... Been researching DE's lately too... I wonder how they shave... All hope is lost ;-)

I don't know if you bid out of US, but here's a seller that has a lot of DE's and they are TOPS in all categories. Just good people. I've bought several from them and can't recommend them highly enough! Regards, Howard

My other says that she does not like looking at those ‘sharp things’ so please do not leave those ‘sharp things’ in my sight, I know you have them but I just don’t want to see them.

She also does not want to see me shaving with them (straight razors) as they scare her and she worries she may see blood.

Well it sounds like an open door to buy more razors to me, almost like an invite. All I have to do is keep them out of her eyesight and I can have as many as I like.

If that doesn't cure the RAD it will at least keep it quiet for a while while you try to hide the bank statements from the wife.

Wow Howard, I thought Jimbo was telling me to buy the custom razor. Looks like you took it as a personal challenge.

You really do have a fantastic wife (definately a keeper)! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New year for you.

Hi Jimmy, I just celebrated my 30th anniversary with my wife in September. I might (it's close) be a little more attached to her than the razors. Besides she let me get this far in my collecting very quick, she definately has some redeeming qualities.

I'm already planning my next scavenger hunt, already checked the bank account, and have razor related purchases on their way to me now. I've eaten bread, eggs, and ramen for the last 3 days...

I sure wish I had something around here to sell...Maybe I could hock this tv.
Hi RJ, great idea. I just a new big screen TV last Chistmas. That should be worth at least 10 vintage razors on ebay!

I'll have to think about that.
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

Yeah, with James it sounds that way, on the wife of 43 years, yes! But I've wanted a Zowada for quite some time. He sent Classic Shaving several recently and they sold quickly. All but one of the Damascus. I watched it for day's and thought every time that I would look it would be sold. Not so! I really wanted it, and she said " if you want it you need to get while you can". Your post sent me over the edge, happily, and I'm very glad to now have a one of a kind Zowada! Merry Christmas to you and your family and a Happy New Year!! And, Welcome to SRP and I hope we have many good and pleasant conversations. Fondest Regards, Howard

...by the way can anybody recommend a good Polish manufactured razor?
Try a Wapienica (I think I have that spelled right). They're occasionally available used, and/or NOS. Were used as "surgical razors", and have metal scales. I've read complaints about the balance, but the edge is OK (or better).

Fendrihan has some with wooden scales in the catalog, but they're all sold out.

    Thanks Charles.

If the Wapienicas were surgical razors, can I assume they are stainless? If they are that is fine, I just tend toward carbon steel when I have a choice.

Are there any / were there any other razor manufacturers in Poland?

Can we form a group based on the 12 step philosophy?

May I suggest the following 12 steps:

    1. Buy a razor.
    2. Evaluate cutting edge and Hone / Strop as appropriate.
    3. Shower or apply hot moist towel to face.
    4. Apply pre-shave lotion.
    5. Apply lather to face.
    6. Shave with the grain (WTG).
    7. Rinse face and apply lather again.
    8. Shave across the grain (XTG).
    9. Rinse face and apply lather again.
    10. Shave against the grain (ATG).
    11. Rinse face and rub block of Alum over freshly shaved skin.
    12. Apply desired lotions, aftershaves and colognes and repeat again from step #1.

I have to apologize, math is not my strong suit. My step 12 stuttered.

The world's balance has now been restored.

    Thanks Ace!
