Now those two razors in the links are sort of what I was thinking of, indeed, I think it was Max's razor that may have originally sparked the idea. However both those razors fail in that they have nice shiney blades. No, what I was thinking of would only have shine from the blade where the hone had kissed it.
Now I hadn't got so far as thinking of a whole kit along this line, but now that it has been mentioned, I think I might have to start looking into creating one for myself soon. I think a colour sceme of black might be the easiest to go with, although tan and OD appeal to me as well.
Years ago when I was enlisted, it didn't really matter what we shaved with, so long as we shaved and I always had a knife on my belt kit, a 6" bladed gerber dagger.
Thanks for all the replies and thoughts so far Gents, but I was sure someone would have done this already by now. Perhaps I was mistaken, and it is in fact, a new idea (surely not?!). I'll wait and see.
