Question A Look back at 2013 Spending...

So I took a look at my receipts from my razor acquisitions from this past year.

I also took into account the razors I have gotten and do not have receipts for.
Creams, Soaps, Buffer, Wheels, Greaseless compound, belt sander(s), wood and hones.

It was a sobering account for my FIRST YEAR in straight razor shaving.

I don't even want to say what I spent....

    Okay...

    REAL close to 2K...

Anyone else total up what they have spent?

No, I don't want to punish myself by knowing the total.

great idea, but I'm not doing it either....SRD for razors alone I'm at about $600. Then I have enough soaps and creams to last 5 years, 2 new strops (including the SRD paddle which I love), 2 DE razors (wish I had kept my adjustable Gillette Fatboy), 2 brushes, a stand for the DE, storage box for my 4 razor collection, a honing on my original Hoffritz, a wall mounted shaving mirror, a high rise bathroom faucet set, (to avoid the dreaded faucet ding), a sampler of DE blades, shaving towels, a Dirty Bird scuttle, a new mug, etc., etc, etc.....

As long as you don't spend what you don't have, whats the difference. I have an idea of what I spent but Im sure it will only come up to about half of actual! LOL(makes me feel better).

I've done well spending wise as well, but have no regrets, the razors I own are tangible things, and have helped calm my usually racing mind by allowing me to spend some time in the morning submerging myself in something that is peaceful and reflective, and brings me some joy and happiness doing something without looking at the bottom line, or spending the day in competition in regards business and all the other aspects that demand focus.

Money comes and goes, but as far as I'm concerned, the members on this forum, SRP, and the joy of owning and shaving with these little pieces of history, has given me far more than I've given in terms of dollars...some things you just can't put a cost to, and for me at least, this is one of the things that's truly mine to love and enjoy.

    Cheers!

Unless we all declared ourselves charities and donated razors to each other...meh....that one might be hard to prove if audited!?!
